Drew Coles
Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Coles is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of FullG Capital Ltd.. With nearly 28 years of real estate experience, he has been directly involved in over $4 billion in commercial real estate acquisitions, asset management, franchise management, construction/development and financing. Drew is considered one of the foremost hotel investment leaders in North America.

Drew was formerly the President and Chief Executive Officer of InnVest REIT, a publicly listed REIT on Toronto Exchange. Under Mr. Coles leadership, InnVest grew from approximately $1.3 billion enterprise value to a privatization transaction worth $2.1 billion. He oversaw a 100+ unit hotel portfolio company totalling over 14,500 rooms and over 4,000 employees, with a wide variety of assets and brands such as Fairmont, Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, Sheraton, Comfort, Holiday Inn, and Quality. He also served as Chairman of Choice Hotels Canada.

Prior to InnVest, Drew also led the hotel investments of Oxford Properties. Oxford’s 3,500 room hotel portfolio value was estimated to be worth over $1.6 billion. Oxford Properties is wholly owned by OMERS pension fund, and has over $50 billion of real estate assets under management.

Drew served on the board of TIAC (Tourism Industry Association of Canada) and has been an industry investment advisor to the CEO Council of the Destinations Canada (formerly Canadian Tourism Commission).  He was a Senior Advisor to McKinsey & Company and its clients. He also served as Founding Chair of ASH (Alignvest Student Housing) private REIT, which has over $400M of student housing assets in Canada.

Mr. Coles holds a BA Economics from Acadia University and an Honors MBA from Webster University in St. Louis, MO. In addition, he has completed a number of executive education programs from Western University, University of Alabama, and is currently completing a certificate in Managerial Finance from the London School of Economics certificate completed in May 2020.

Drew is actively involved in charitable work: Tour de Bleu, Michael Garron Hospital, World Cycling Relief, Ride to Conquer Cancer, Young People’s Theatre (previous board position), independent family meal delivery at the outset of covid, Pathways to Education and more. In 2019, he qualified to compete for Team Canada in the 2020 Triathlon World Championships Grand Finale, Edmonton Alberta.

Jag Obhan
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Obhan is the Chief Financial Officer at FullG Capital Ltd. and is responsible for accounting, finance, budgeting, treasury and tax functions.

He has nearly 25 years of finance, audit, capital markets, banking and operations experience. Jag also has over 8 years of experience in various real estate classes, most notably office, industrial, multi-family, self storage and data centers.

Prior to joining FullG Capital Ltd., Mr. Obhan was the Chief Financial Officer at Manulife US Office REIT, the first pure play US Office REIT listed on the Singapore Exchange. After successfully taking Manulife US Office REIT through its IPO, he has led multiple rounds of equity and debt fund raising in the public and private markets for the REIT. The REIT had a portfolio of over $2 billion Trophy or Class A quality office properties located in California, Atlanta, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. The REIT was also part of FTSEEPRA NAREIT Global Developed Index.

Mr. Obhan has also held progressive senior management positions in Manulife including as the role of Head of Finance for Manulife’s Private Asset Management which offered Canadian and US real estate funds and mortgage/private debt funds. He has also held several finance and accounting managerial positions in Manulife Investments, Manulife Bank and Royal Bank of Canada.

Mr. Obhan obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant (Canada) working at E&Y and holds a Masters in Business Administration from Schulich School of Business and Kellogg School of Business.  

Notable Transactions:

  • Equity and debt funding of nine prime, freehold and Trophy or Class A quality office properties located in California, Atlanta, New Jersey and Washington, D.C.
  • Established the first US $1 billion public bond program with a US REIT structure in Singapore
  • Led the structuring and implementation of the first US-Singapore tax structure for a public US Office REIT listed in Singapore.
  • Established loan syndication of $200M with five international banks

 

Jeff Menard
Head of Equity Investments

Mr. Menard is the Head of Equity Investments at FullG Capital Ltd. based in the United States.  He has nearly 20 years of real estate experience and has direct experience in acquisition, development, and asset management of over $2 billion of commercial real estate. 

Prior to joining FullG Capital Ltd., he was the Vice President of Acquisitions at Thor Equities, a private real estate investor based in New York City.  At Thor Equities, he was the senior acquisition executive responsible for office, life science, multifamily, and industrial acquisitions throughout the United States.  

Prior to Thor Equities, he was with Mitsui Fudosan America, the U.S. subsidiary of Japan’s largest publicly traded real estate developer. While with Mitsui Fudosan, he served in various acquisition and asset management roles, ultimately relocating from New York to San Francisco to oversee the opening of the company’s first satellite office in the US. He has also worked in the commercial mortgage brokerage industry. 

Mr. Menard holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting from Syracuse University and a Master’s of Science in Real Estate Finance from the Schack School of Real Estate at New York University.  He is also an active full member of the Urban Land Institute and frequent guest speaker for multiple professional organizations.

Notable Transactions:

  • Established Mitsui Fudosan America’s first satellite office and managed all west coast investment activity, including over 1,200 residential apartment units and 500,000 square feet of office.
  • Acquired a 76 acre life science campus in Research Triangle Park with 60,000 SF of existing R&D space and 300,000 SF of future development rights.
  • Acquired and asset managed office properties totaling over $1b in value in Austin, Nashville, Washington DC, New York City, and San Francisco.
